RADIO ON R.R. CARS.

Replying to your Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}7/KW.7.9.34., we have arrived at the values of condensers and suppressors we require on our chassis, but our difficulty at the moment is that the use of suppressors definitely goes interfere with the dead slow running of the engine either idling or pulling at about 4 m.p.h. on top gear on the level.

Until we have discovered whether it is possible to overcome this, we would prefer not to make any concrete recommendations particularly regarding suppressors.

Another point we have discovered is that although we may equip our cars with condensers and suppressors there may still be a little interference dependent on local conditions such as the position of the set and the aerial and lead in wires etc.

This means that each chassis would have to be dealt with again when the wireless installation was completed in order to ensure complete elimination from interference.

We do not consider however that with new chassis there will be much difficulty in this respect as we are informed by the radio people that our cars are singularly free from interference other than that which can be successfully overcome in the first instace by the initial fitting of condensers and suppressors etc.

You may be assured that as soon as we are clear with this suppressor trouble we will immediately issue our recommendations.
