Copy From: THE A.C.SPHINX SPARKING PLUG COMPANY LIMTD. HET/LM Bradford Street BIRMINGHAM 28th February 1925 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. Dear Sirs, Your Order No.29337 dated the 31st.ult. With further reference to your letter dated the 4th inst., ref.ROY{Sir Henry Royce}8/MG4.2.25, dealing with our letter and quotation of the 2nd inst., with regard to the above order, the undersigned would like to have the opportunity of discussing the question of sparking plugs with your Engineering Department. The 36 A.C Plugs type 18 C.P.T (carbon proof type) which you are at present testing will, we know, give first-class results in both the 20 and 40/50 HP. engines, but there are one of two constructional details we would like to discuss as there is a possibility that another type of plug would give better results. We do not wish to be judged solely on the plugs we have already sent. In addition to the foregoing you may have a preference for a plug with three firing points which we can easily supply and your engine conditions might be better serviced with a plug of longer reach than the normal 5/8". These are the points we want to go over with you. Price. We know that performance and not price will be the determining factor with you, but because Rolls-Royce Cars command, due to their reputation, a high price, there is no reason why you should not buy plugs at a very low price.
