X421 To By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from BJ. BJ19/H4:7.24. WHEELS. BY18/H27.6.24. I wrote to you to ask how this matter was progressing because in R2/M3.6.24, a paragraph read as follows:- "WIRE WHEELS - RUDGE WHITWORTH. By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} objects at present on certain grounds to these wheels. I suggest that further tests should be made and that a sample should be sent to W.W." I therefore had the impression that you were fathering this job. Possibly, however, Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has the matter in hand. It is rather difficult for us here to know exactly who is dealing with each of these matters. Please pass this memo. to the official who is dealing with the matter, and ask him please to let me know what has been done since R's memo. of the 3rd June, and whether a sample has been sent to W.W. as requested by R. {Sir Henry Royce} B.J. | ||
