CHASSIS. -2- Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}4.5.33. MINUTE 3. WOODHEAD ROAD SPRINGS. Memo He2/ET.7.4.33. stated:- "The Woodhead Springs on Per. 3 which ran "10,000 miles are satisfactory. We have "also now completed 10,000 miles on the "Bentley with Woodhead springs. We shall "certainly standardise these springs for "Peregrine and Bentley. "The 25 HP. car 18.G.IV. which is going "to France shortly is fitted with Woodhead "springs. We should recommend that any "further springs ordered for the 25 H.P. "should be Woodhead. We have carried out "satisfactory bump tests and propose "issuing a standardisation sheet." 18-C4. will be crossing over to France 6.5.33. with Firth's spring fitted and not Woodheads as mentioned above. By4/C.4.5.33. instructs the ordering of 3 sets of springs from Firth's with the object of running these on some of the 15 Bentley chassis which are to be built in order to obtain relative figures of performance. MINUTE 4. 3 1/2 LITRE BENTLEY. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said 2nd car be ready Easter. Modifications agreed for incorporation:- 1. Plain bearings to timing) gears in place of ball ) bearings. ) 2. Close ratio gearbox. 3. Modifications to brake ) gear so as to reduce ) risk of fouling on bad ) roads. ) RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} states this car was finished as promised for Easter. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} states that these alterations are incorporated on the engine unit of the 2nd Bentley chassis. | ||
