X634 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG24.1.28. TORQUE REACTION. XS005 X634 Front of the engine 2 point ridig. Rear of the engine mounted on the most flexible of the rubbers cut to length 1.100", the top rubbers having .100 less set up than the bottom ones. Nett result : Front of the frame vibrates violently while dash remains relatively still; the vibration however is transmitted from the frame to the body, the scuttle of which takes up a periodic vibration. The lever fitted to the back of the cyl. block moves through an appreciable amplitude shewing that damping at this point may produce desirable results. General impression : This is the worst condition of engine mounting for torque reaction that we have so far experienced, being violent anywhere round 500 r.p.m. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
