contd :- -3- when the brakes were applied. The whole suspension gave one the impression that it contributed to the poor steering of the car at high speeds. SUMMARY. This is more or less what one would expect for a car built for a single purpose. The most peculiar feature is the poor high speed control in spite of the harsh spring-ing, low ground clearance and provision of torque tube move-ment by an arched passage in the floorboards - as in the Lancia. There is not the least doubt that the only feature of the slightest interest to us is the engine. This is quite remarkably flexible, is free from periods and develops plenty of power. In spite of feeling that, were it required, R-R would be able to produce an equally powerful engine of similar dimensions, nevertheless, it is very possible that this engine incorporates some novel features of design. In any case, it would be interesting to determine by what means the designers have suppressed marked periods in such a high efficiency power unit. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/W.A.Robotham. | ||
