| X302 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.23.11.36. P.III MODIFICATIONS. Replying to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/KW.21.11.36., attached is a list of mileages done on the old type differential boxes. 34-EX, now being run for Demonstration work, as you will see covered 30,000. There are now only 47 cars out with the old type differential boxes. Actually we have only found one cracked box to the original P.III design. This was found on the scrap heap, and how it was cracked nobody knows. The ones which broke so easily on the 25/30 were, of course, to a different drawing. We do not think there is any danger in extending the period before changing these parts to 15,000 miles. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
