E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., (Expl. Dept.)
Derby.

Dear Mr. Hives,

As I arranged with somebody in your Department on Saturday, I am bringing in the car to Derby to-morrow, Tuesday. Would you have lunch with me at the Midland Hotel at about 1.00 p.m.? I should like to have a chat with you, and I want to catch the 3.30 train for London, so if you could manage to come to lunch it would save that much time.

I shall be at our Shelton Works at Stoke-on-Trent to-morrow morning, so perhaps if you are not able to come to lunch you will be good enough to give me a ring there - the telephone No. is Hanley 5321. If I do not hear anything from you, I shall expect you at the hotel.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Summers
Director.

RFS/HC.
