PHANTOM III CHASSIS re. Leaking Oil Level Indicator Float. We have taken this matter up with both the Drawing Office and our Inspection, why this float should have a soldered flat base when the drawing shows it a one piece spinning. It would appear there has been some misunderstanding between them. This type of float was found impracticable to make as drawn, and a soldered flat base one submitted for our approval. It appears this was agreed to, but the drawings were never altered. Will the Drawing Office please say if this type of float can be used in future, and show a design for sweating in the base plate. In the meantime, E.G. is inspecting every float before assembly. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/TVT.{T. V. Turner} JTS | ||
