Dear Sirs,
We beg to acknowledge receipt of your kind letter of the 21st inst., with reference to the latest filter we sent you for test.
We note your remarks with reference to the stud carrying the plates being too long and we cannot imagine how we came to make this mistake. However, if we have left rather too much play in the plates when the rod is detached, we think 1/8" shorter should make this quite safe.
Regarding the aluminium sump, we agree that this could be made lighter and suggest that we leave this point until you have completed your test, as at any later date we could easily draw a sump out of sheet metal in accordance with your suggestions.
Yours faithfully,
BENTON & STONE LTD.,
Eric Milner.
Director.
