To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} RE. QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS RECEIVED FOR DECEMBER. I have gone over the complaints and find that at the moment there does not appear to be any improvements as a result of my investigations. It is quite probable however that the various modifications made and instructed have not as yet been long enough in service to show the results. I see by the report that the most serious complaints are as follows, brakes 247, an increase of 78 on the previous half year for Phantom II and 25 increase for 25 HP. Springing 266 Steering 217, Hydraulic's 233 an increase on Phantoms of 53 and 14 - 25 HP. Exhaust failures 160, Clutches 86 increase of 5 with Phantom II and 12 - 25 HP. I think it would be very advisable to have a meeting to deal with the above items, especially shock dampers, as I feel that this complaint will continue to grow as we have not yet with the present design any definite cures and we are still turning Cars out with these dampers. We may safely say that 50% of the steering complaints are also due to the failure of the dampers. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
