We understand that works are fitting up some of these with the damping load as high as 30 lbs.ft. Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has reported a case of rattle when set at 28 lbs.ft. We recommend therefore that 18 - 22 lbs.ft. should be the limit for the spring drive setting in the works. It is very easy to check for load and alter it if necessary by the length of the bronze distance pieces. We think it would be cheaper to set them correctly in the first instance than to have to take them down after a road test. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
