re: COMPLAINT REPORT N° P.259
------------------------
Chassis B.6.MR

1240

With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GRY.{Shadwell Grylls}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}10.7.39, the wear in question had taken place on one side of the G.54840 adjusting washer (on the side nearest to the inner end of the coupling flange) there was also a certain amount of wear on the inner end of the coupling flange.

Prior to taking out the end play it was possible to insert a .020" feeler gauge between the G.54680 clamping washer and the outer face of the coupling flange.

We left .002" end float.

We are keeping a close eye on the car and will let you know should there develop an increase in the existing .002" end float.

Sr/VA.
