Huckerby}25.4.39. Further to the minutes of the Conference, memo HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}8/BA.20.4.39, the following is a list of outstanding parts in order of urgency. (1) By an oversight no induction systems have been instructed for Nos. 3 and 4 Bentley 80 units. We are, therefore, unable to run all the engines on test until these are available. In view of this will you please urge as our No.1 engine job, 2 sets of parts as follows:- EB.4838 induction pipe - 2 off. EB.4839 Risers - " " EB.4840 Insulating washers - 2 off. EB.4841 " " These are additional to the systems ordered for B.80 Nos. 5 and 6 units. (2) Modification of oil pipe from pump to relief valve ECD.1264 as instructed Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}7/MH.{M. Huckerby}30.3.39. This is wanted for confirmation that it is O.K. for Bentley V production. (3) Completion in detail of B.V. No.1 unit for 10.B.V. (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}9.3.39). (4) Assembly of Ph. No.8 unit for sale to E.R.Hall. (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}18.4.39). (5) We have instructed that w.III No.10 unit be instructed with the strengthened exhaust valves EB.4845, however, we should like 2 spare sets urging to try out on bed as soon as possible.
