the needle moves, whether the supply is greater than the
demand, or vice versa. Using a central zero ammeter, connected
in this manner, really tells us more about what is going on in
the various circuits than using a single range ammeter merely
connected in the dynamo main circuit.

(f)(g)(h)(i) Connections of Motor, Main switch, Actuator Box and Push Button Switch.

Suitable heavy current leads are run from the
battery round the third cross member to the motor, The one
from the negative terminal of the battery passes the motor
and goes direct to the motor but the lead from the positive ter-
minal passes the motor and goes on to the electrically operated
main switch on the left hand side of the front of the dash.
The circuit is completed by a portion of heavy current cable
running from the main switch to the motor. The main switch
has three terminals, one in connection with the starter motor
by cable just mentioned, one a small terminal in connection with
the push button switch, and a third which is common to both main
curcuit and operating or relay circuit, which is in direct
connection with the positive end of the battery, as already
described.

Current for operating the relay circuit is taken
from the negative side of the Lucas junction box and passes
through the push button switch, it then divides into two portions
one of which passes through the exciting coil of the main switch
and returns to the battery along the heavy current positive lead.
