Dealing in detail with the points dealt with in your memo By12/F18.5.20 and enclosure Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/1619.B.C, we have already written that we see serious objections to fitting either (1) the Simms magneto or (2) the Lucas generator. As regards - (S) Pressure gauges. Mr. Hives found on dismantling the sample American gauges sent him some months ago that those made by the U. S. Gauge Co. were better in construction than our own. He asked for further models to continue his tests, and these have just-been sent by mail. Unfortunately, shipment of the replacement set was delayed here, due to a misunderstanding. Here again, though these gauges have not been run on Rolls-Royce cars, they have run many hundreds of thousands of miles on other makes and are in no sense experimental or specially made for us. | ||
