SECRET. BJ7/E10.12.28

To ensure that the utmost secrecy is maintained, I propose to forward this memorandum to the officials concerned every fortnight, as one knows from experience that we are all apt gradually to overlook such items unless we are reminded of their importance.

1. Is everything possible being done to maintain secrecy in regard to the "SS{S. Smith}" chassis, and to impress on those who are likely to be in contact with it that it is only a super-sports model?

2. Is all correspondence concerning the "SS{S. Smith}" marked "Secret" and sent in an envelope marked "Secret"?

3. Have you any suggestions which would increase the safety of the secret being maintained in any way whatever?

4. Are the chassis and parts being made and kept in the Holy of Holies?

It was mentioned at the Board Meeting on the 7th December that it should be realised throughout the Company that any one who is in the secret and who speaks to even his best friend about the "SS{S. Smith}" or does not do his utmost to keep the secret in every way must be regarded for ever after as a traitor to the Company and to every employee who is dependent on the success of the Company.

BJ.
