Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/R.20.1.37. P.III - 4 Port Cylinder Head. Referring to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}2/MJ.11.1.37., we are enthusiastic about the 4 port cylinder head, and it is going to France on 35-EX for a 15,000 mile test within the next few days. It has, however, introduced several problems, one of which is the efficiency of the exhaust silencer. Unfortunately, the standard silencer is no good at all with a 4 port cylinder head, and so far we have no had much success in evolving an exhaust system which will do the job. It is, therefore, not possible to consider introducing the 4 port cylinder head until these problems have been solved. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
