The Kingsbury Department has recently been receiving piston rings that are apparently heat stressed in place of the hammered stressed. They have been a failure with regard to oil consumption, and have necessitated the stripping down of the engine to fit other rings. A recent case was 400 M.P.G. with the heat stressed rings and 800 hammer stressed standard brico. The Depot has to-day received another supply of rings which are hammer stressed. Why are these different rings being supplied. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
