X 3031 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby, Dear Sirs, MAGNALIUM ALLOY (Ref. W.A. Dept) Replying to yours of the 2 nd. Ref: WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/W31/E517, re Magnálium Metal Alloy, it would be necessary for you to secure the release of the Aluminium required for the manufacture of this alloy from the Minsitry of Munitions. Subject to your arranging for the one ton of aluminium free to be sent to our works, Blackwells Mettalurgical Works, Garston, we would undertake to supply one ton of Magnálium Metal Alloy at £115. per ton. This price, of course, being understood for the conversion of the aluminium into Alloy and supplying the necessary percentage of Magnesium. We could deliver the total quantity a week after receipt of the Aluminium or if you would prefer a portion on account we could probably arrange to send you 5/10 cwts. 2/3 days after receipt of the Aluminium. We shall be glad if you will kindly favour us with a wire in the morning if you accept so that we may secure the necessary Magnesium Metal. Yours faithfully, GEO.
