EAC.14. PROPOSED PROGRAMME.

1/ Dry liner aluminium cylinder block required. Already existing.

2/ New Crankshaft with oval web. Already instructed experimentally.

3/ New Tubular Rods. Already instructed experimentally.

4/ Piston. Fit present design, but E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will send new design which if it comes in time will be fitted in place of standard.

5/ Aluminium cylinder head as at present 5 to 1 compression, but with increased clearance holes to suit larger diameter tappets.

6/ New single downtake pipe and exhaust system. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Dept. to check that present aluminium head is quite suitable.

7/ New slipper flywheel. Already instructed.

8/ New wheelcase to suit. Derby to get out scheme.

9/ Crankcase. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} to send a design showing how this will be stiffened. Slight modifications only will be called for. This could afterwards be applied to standard engines.

10/ Clutch - Lightened Type Clutch with serrated drive. Derby have combined the requirements called for here from existing designs, and blue is already in WW's hands for decision.

11/ Gearbox. Unaltered.

12/ New Propeller Shaft with modified thrust. Being detailed at Derby.

13/ One piece propeller shaft casing. Being detailed.

14/ Rear axle brakes of the side by side drum type. WW. have supplied general scheme. Certain parts have to be fitted in by Derby. We propose to fit the first car with the present wire wheels.

15/ Springs. Special requirements for these will be settled by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

16/ Dampers. Both Hartfords and Hydraulics will be fitted to the front and rear axles.
