Dr. J.G. Mackay,
The Avon India Rubber Co.,Ltd.,
Melksham,
WILTS:

Dear Mackay,

Our latest information from France is that the only tyres which will really stand up satisfactory on the 'Corniche are 7.x 16 dimensions. The 6½ x 16 Dunlop Rayon tyres do not last much longer than your light tread 6 x 16 tyres.

We have not yet had a tread come off the Dunlop Light Tread 7 x 16 tyres.

I think that, under the circumstances, you would like to make a light tread 7 x 16 for us to try out.

It seems to me that this might be more practical than trying to bring a 6 x 16 up to the necessary speed resisting standard, and in so doing, reduce its useful wear characteristics to an unreasonable extent.

Yours sincerely,
