To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from G/Rb.{R. Bowen} X223 G/Rb.{R. Bowen}8/M/48/M.14136. Bentley Exhaust System. Regarding the proposal to produce the Bentley Downtake pipe and Front Expansion Box in Mild Steel instead of in Staybrite, we have investigated the cost of parts and find the following:- Cost of Material in Staybrite 27/- " " " Mild Steel 6/6. +5/6 Alum. In regard to the front intermediate pipe, the Material Cost of this in Staybrite is 24/7 as against 2/4 if in Mild Steel. Of course the difference between the figures given above will be reduced to the extent of the cost of Aluminising. Drawing and correspondence returned herewith. G/Rb.{R. Bowen}(LD) | ||
