x7772. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (In U.S.A.) C. to W o R.{Sir Henry Royce} Received 1.12.30. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}-2 X.5770. X.7941d. X.7772. 25-HP. Replying to your letter I have already sent a report on the general position of the 25 HP. The propaganda cars appear to have been usefully used. one is in Montreal, it was discussed yesterday that they would now try and sell that car before Canada is frozen up for the winter. I found Inskip and Hiltz (Boston) most enthusiastic, much more so than about Phantom 11. Beaver and Hosac are worried about the stock of Phantom 1, they are both anxious that 25-Ex. shall not be seen any more than possible. The impression I got at the meeting was, they expected to clear their Phantom 1 stock in about six months. If we are successful in reducing the price of the 25 HP. there is undoubtedly a big market out here. Inskip pointed out that although in this country all women drive, they have not ten in the whole country who drive R.R. cars. They are frightened of the parking difficulty with the big car, Phantom ll will be worse. The 25 HP. should provide an ideal high class car for a lady. The most encouraging point is of course there is no real criticism of the car, only enthusiasm. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
