ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. X3587 To: EFC Order No: AB 83 Customer's No.: 1. Date: 4 Sept 1923 Starter-Motor Slipping Clutch. Motor No3 on 8GI engine was found to have a slipping safety clutch and a test has been made today to find the current at which this occurs. The test was first made with the clutch dry, when it was found that the motor just crept round somewhat irregularly, against a stalled engine, at 160 amps, and slightly more definitely when the current was raised to 240 amps. Next the clutch was freely oiled and the test repeated. This time only 68 amps were required to produce creeping and when the current was increased, the speed of slipping was increased. Signed: H Allen. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. RR 238 (300 Bks.) (SF 152. 6-11-18.) MP 197880 | ||
