We had a visit yesterday from Mr. Thacker of 'Lucas' with reference to interior car heaters. Unfortunately 20-EX was unavoidably away from the works, but we were able to explain the principle of the heater satisfactorily and have arranged to send the unit to Lucas for their inspection and investigation. The pros and cons of exhaust and water radiator heating were discussed and we stated all our arguments against exhaust heating; convincing Mr. Thacker that the water system was preferable. It was agreed that there was a possible market apart from our small requirements, for such an article and we were given to understand that Lucas' would go into the matter with a view to producing a satisfactory article. The whole design of the unit depends of course upon the space available for it in the car, and we have referred Mr. Thacker to you for this information, suggesting that a possible place for the unit is on the partition between the two occasional seats. Perhaps you will get in communication with Lucas towards the end of the week, by which time they will have had an opportunity of examining the heater. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.J.Lidsey. | ||
