BENTLEY BRAKES INEFFECTIVE. Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}7.11.33. We agree that we should expect Jack Barclay to suffer from ineffective brakes in the manner stated in his letter. We think that we are better in this respect than most cars, and recovery is in any case exceedingly rapid, about two applications of the brakes bringing them back to normal. One difficulty is that a better wearing quality of lining is more likely to be affected by water. We are not satisfied with the state of affairs, and are continuing experimental work on the subject.
