HYDRAULIC DAMPERS.

We notice on N.sch.2262 that the hydraulic dampers only allow for ¼" free movement of the spring below its normal rebound position when loaded with the axle before the piston fouls the end of the cylinder.

We wonder whether it is not possible to increase the factor of safety at this point? A failure of a front shock absorber might be rather serious when we fit balloon tyres as we rely on this feature to eliminate high speed wobbles.
