Dear Sir:

With further reference to your letter of the 17th inst. regarding a vacancy in your Experimental Department I should like to bring Mr.R.P.HUBBERSTY to your notice.

You will see from the short details of Mr.Hubbersty's career, which I enclose, that he did not take the Honours degree in Engineering, and I quite realise that if the research your department is doing is mathematical Mr.Hubbersty is not the man you require. I am suggesting him, however, as he is a man whose entire interest is centred in car design, and his keenness in this line together with a rather exceptional practical ability would, I think, make him a really useful person for the kind of research in which ideas are needed rather than mathematical skill.
