Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. X8060 R6/M5. 9.27. PHANTOM AND 20 HP. EXPERIMENTAL ENGINES RECENTLY BROUGHT HERE. X.5770 X.8070 X.8060 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has been inclined to think that the inlets are making a noise similar to the fault we ran into when the inlet valve opened during pressure in the cyl. Whether this is so or not I am a little bit doubtful, but we want you to be aware of the possibility of running into another epidemic of inlet air noises, due to change of timing and overlap.
