SYNCHROMESH CONES.
On the last few P.III boxes built in the Experimental Dept., we have not lapped the synchromesh cones. The efficiency of the cones has been better than those which have been lapped. We recommend, therefore, that six boxes are put through with unlapped cones, thereby saving 6 1/2 hours fitting time, for Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} to say whether they are successful or not.
