X. 2512. Extract from R10/W14.8.19. X.1607. (struck through) X.2512 With reference to the tremblers belonging to the car it appears that the American Battery Ignition people find, as we have found, that the condenser should be quite close across the make and break, that is to say, there should be no length of wire between the platinum points and the two sides of the condenser. This suggests on our cars the use of two condensers - one across the trembler and one across the contact maker. It might be tried whether this arrangement had any influence as to whether the platinum points would remain in good order. You will remember that some little time ago I suggested the use of a condenser over and above the bestsize for the spark, for the object of reducing the burning of the platinum but I do not know whether you have had time to test this.? | ||
