EAC.7. STARTER MOTOR.

Replying to your BY12/H25127. we have almost completed the design for the new automatic switch unit used with the 13/20 1 ratio starter motor. There are however one or two little details I am not yet satisfied with myself, and I assume that it has to pass the Design Committee also.

I wrote to R.{Sir Henry Royce} a few days ago telling him of the position of the automatic switch, and may say that I expect two more days will be required by myself for the completion of this design.

I was not aware that there was any outstanding design required from here for the starter motor unit itself, but if there is will you kindly let me know because there is no doubt that the starter motor should be fitted to the car mentioned in your memo., even if the latest automatic switch is not available.

The press button switch can be the original single type one, and EFC. will I believe be able to suitably modify the existing automatic switch unit to enable it to function similarly to the sch. I am working on here, if this latter should not be ready in time.

Although of course R.{Sir Henry Royce} would be keen on getting the complete system installed, I believe what he is most desirous of finding out is whether the starter motor unit will function as desired.
