Firth of Sheffield are proceeding with manufacture of 15, centrifugally cast and rough machined, to our Drawings EX.15238. 1. The material they are using will be equivalent in analysis to D.T.D.49.A, i.e. their equivalent of Kayser Ellison K.E.965. There will be probably some little delay in completion, as apparently they will have to make a special Cast of Steel. 2. Additional thereto, Messrs. Kayser Ellison are proceeding with 15 such Forgings in K.E.965 Special Steel, size 4 1/8" o/d x 2 1/4" Bore x 8 1/8" over all. They will give delivery in about 4 weeks time. 3. Kayser Ellison's Forgings will cost 75/- each. I have no figures yet re Firth's. ROY{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
