lining. It was, therefore, decided that a drain must be made at the bottom of the pressure plate, but that it would have to be protected from water ingress under normal shallow watersplash conditions.

2.B.30 and I.R.I. are both fitted up as explained above, with mock-up shields fitted with Bloomsbury tape. The drain on 2.B.30 was large enough for completely draining in 8 or 9 seconds - that fitted to I.R.I. drained in rather under one minute.

One guard plate has been pressed out by Mr. Mobley from 28 SWG. Steel for fitting to a gearbox fitted with the oil-seal housing as shown on GB.4047. This is in the garage stores with the brake linings. The other guard will be spun into the Spring plate GB.5114, the 4.130 dia. groove being deepened to give 1.100 overall dimension. Stainless spinnings are doing this.

Summary of the position of Development of the following.

1. Rationalised braking as fitted to 12.B.V.
2. Weather protection of braking system.
3. Projected Ripplotto brakes.
4. Brake Squeak.
5. Petrol Pumps.
6. Centralised Chassis Lubrication.
