To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X2655 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M23.7.26. RE HEADLAMPS. X.8800. X.1357. X.1369. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG19.7.26, concerning the lamps on 10-EX, we know of no English lamp which is superior to the Lucas, although we admit that the present production of Lucas lamps in both effectiveness and appearance is not all that could be wished for. The most popular lamps, such as are used by the Maharajahs in India, and continental speed enthusiasts, is the Carl Zeiss, the British distributors of which are J.W. Atha & Co., Winsley House, Wells St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, Oxford St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} London. W.1. We also believe that the Bosch people make a similar lamp, but of this we have no experience. We do however know that the Carl Zeiss lamp is good, and has an effective anti-dazzle device. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
