Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your letter of the 1st instant, and are pleased to note that the results you have obtained from the first sample mounting are promising.
The load deflection readings for the other two samples B and C are not quite what we expected, the deflection for 1000-lb. in the case of B being .010" and in the case of C, .014". Just what effect this small difference in deflection will make must be decided by test.
We will carry out a deflection test on the rubber mounting referred to in your second paragraph as soon as this comes to hand.
At your request we are putting in hand 6 more units of the type which you have already tested. The inner sleeve in the first sample was made of phosphor bronze, and these further 6 samples will be made of the same material unless we hear to the contrary.
Before quoting for 200 units, we should like to know whether the sleeves are to be made of phosphor bronze or brass, since your original blue print calls for brass inner sleeves.
Yours faithfully,
SILENTBLOC LIMITED,
Sidney L/Skey.
