For the attention of Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

You will recall that during a recent visit of your Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Ll. Smith to our Works, a portion of pressure plate as used on your Phantom III chassis was left with us for chemical and physical analyses with a view to comparing same with our standard pressure plate material.

We were led to understand that the tensile of the 'Millenite' iron pressure plate was something in the neighbourhood of 25-tons per sq.in. However, from Tensometer tests we have carried out, and as indicated on the enclosed Laboratory Report, you will appreciate that the actual tensile figure is approximately half the above, namely 13-tons per sq.in.

We give on our report the chemical analysis of the 'Millenite' as compared with our standard material specification, and also the analysis carried out on the pressure plate recently returned to us in a broken condition.

Trusting the above will be of use and interest to you, we are,

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED.
