Engine cold start performance data at -28°F and -30°F, with and without fuel dilution, and proposed gearing changes.

Without dilution we can go down to 0°F.{Mr Friese}
with dilution (25%) we can go down to -30°F with the existing starter.

If we could incorporate a 16:1 gearing we could just about start at -30°F without dilution.

1200 / 1.6 = 750 amps
900 / 1.6 = 562 RPM.
with warm battery.
Torque = 570 x 2 = 1140. lb ft.
