x7120. Whr{Mr Wheeler}/Mac.{Mr Macintosh}4/LAM.22.8.30. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Copy Hr. HJ re Chassis 26-EX. Barker Saloon. Sir Henry Royce. With reference to Sa's. suggestion that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} should take this car over to Biarritz, O.{Mr Oldham} has considered this this morning, and has decided that the car should be delivered by one of our ordinary drivers to Sa. at Biarritz. Please note that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has telephoned from Works that we shall not receive this car back in London until late on Wednesday evening next, the 27th instant, following the inspection of the car by R.{Sir Henry Royce} at W.V. It would therefore appear that the sundry modifications cannot be dealt with by Barkers until Thursday morning, and until the situation becomes clearer regarding exact time of delivery to us, the writer is taking no steps to reserve accommodation on the cross channel boat. If we can get the car away from Barkers by Thursday afternoon, then it might cross from Folkestone to Boulogne by the Friday 11 o'clock service. We have advised Sa. at Biarritz of the above, and will telegraph him next week when we know for certain when we can despatch the car.
