Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 87960 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/MJ.5.10.32. re. 58-GN. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E3.10.32. We cannot explain why 58-GN. should be short of petrol on the road. The probable reason is that the petrol filter may be partly choked. We shall be asking you to let us have 58-GN. in about two weeks time so that we can fit to that car - (1) Modifications to the carburetter to improve the starting. (2) Improved air silencer in order to overcome some of the roar which we know exists. (3) Arrange the controls in the same way as it is proposed to adopt on production. (4) Voltage controlled dynamo. We may also at the same time have further modifications to the steering which we should like you to try. We should not expect the friction in the column to alter by atmospheric conditions but we are not very thrilled with this modification on your car and we are trying out other schemes.
