B.V. WITH 7 - 1 PISTONS.

Herewith D.CD.1373 Distributor with vernier adjustment to suit above.

The scheme shows a Vernier adjuster unit adapted to a RR. Distributor.

With the exception of the increased diameter of neck and the addition of an anchor bracket the distributor is as standard Bentley Continental.

The diameter of the neck has been increased to prevent the clamping plate closing the bore.

The vernier unit complete to be obtained from Messrs. Lucas. This provides a range of 8° retard + 1° advance, totalling 9° on distributor or 18° on flywheel.

It will be noticed that these figures are only partly in agreement with those asked for in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}3/JH. 12.5.39. the dimension .400 on a 2" radius there referred to being approximately 12° and not 8°. As the latter agrees with the marking on the scale, we have followed that.

When this attachment is used, there is no hand control, so that the Corniche chassis will require this distributor with the vernier fitting removed, and the lug for hand control attachment reinstated.
