A sheet metal pressing bolted between the clutch casing and crankcase forms the closure for parts of the clutch casing, and an arm welded on one side forms a torque arm. See sketch SS.{S. Smith}31.

CLUTCH CASING.

Clutch casing is in cast aluminium and is strengthened by seven small webs at gear box end.

CRANKSHAFT. (Ex.S.788 and SS.{S. Smith}84 - S.CD.729).

Material - High Carbon Steel.

7 Bearings 2.480 dia. (See under bearings).

Crank Pins 2.086 dia.

Balance weights solid on all webs.

FLYWHEEL. (SS.{S. Smith}32 and 33).

13.075 Outside Diameter.

Starter Ring 103 Teeth.

10" Borg & Beck clutch.

STARTER MOTOR.

Type - Lucas 12 volt.

Pinion o/dia. 1.5625 Root/Dia. 1.125 No.Teeth 11.

BEARINGS. (SS.{S. Smith}15).

Steel Shells - white metal lined, with locating tabs fitted in notches. Vanderbilt type.

No.1 2.479 Dia. x 1.250 wide.

No.2 2.479 Dia. x .850 wide.

No.3 2.479 Dia. x .850 wide.
