THE ABOVE CURVES SHEW THE INFLUENCE OF METHOD OF PREHEATING ON POWER & EFFICIENCY.
WITH THE STD. HOT SPOT INCREASING THE AIR TEMP FROM 32°C TO 80°C LOWERS THE M.E.P. FROM 95 lbs/□" TO 90 lbs/□". THE SPECIFIC CONSUMPTION FOR MAX. POWER REMAINS APPROXIMATELY THE SAME AT .7 PTS/HP/HR. THE MAX. ECONOMY IS ALSO THE SAME AT .59 PTS/HP/HR. PREHEATED AIR ONLY GIVES LESS POWER AND GREATER CONSUMPTION THAN THE STD HOT SPOT.
