RE CAR MANUFACTURE.

It was agreed that all these cars should be fitted with electric self-starters, the same as on 7CA., but constructed for 6 volts, which voltage was found quite satisfactory on the Peerless Starter.
X.3014.That we obtain from Lucas' a slow speed dynamo and suitable switchboard for this voltage, which will permit of ample diameter of belt pulley, and generate sufficient current for the lamps at a car speed of 15 miles per hour or less. This will represent a dynamo which cuts in at a speed of 750 revs. p.m. or less i.e. belt pulley ratio of not more than 1.5 to 1.

In the starting equipment, the whole of which it is agreed we make, except the batteries, the winding will have to be modified for the 6 volts, and twice the current and the magnetic switch for the new pattern, and single brass button should be made up at once, so as to be proved thoroughly before manufacture commences.

In the meantime I advocate that we get together a substantial electrical department, largely composed of female labour for the production of these and other electrical apparatus, which our work demands.
