X. 4273& Coil Cases made from a Rubber Base Insulating Material.

Following receipt of By14/H16.7.24, I sent North & Sons Ltd. 2 Coil Cases of Nestolite and they were good enough to complete the curing of same and return them to us.

In the course of a conversation I subsequently had with Mr.North, he informed me that his firm had ceased to use Nestolite as they found it was unreliable.

We are now informed by North & Sons that they are obtaining very good results with the plastic moulding material known as "Red Compound Dough", supplied by The British Ebonite Co.Ltd., Nightingale Road, Hanwell, London, W.7, and they (Norths) give expression to the belief that we should find it quite satisfactory for our Coil Cases.

I do not know whether it is our intention to make further experiments in the production of Coil Cases of a rubber base insulating material or not, but the information now afforded may be interesting if we do contemplate going forward in the matter.
