COPY. X5030 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}5/HP.5.7.33. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Drilled up Connecting Rods. We send you herewith: LeC.3559 showing two designs for the Bentley and 20-HP connecting rods. Will you please have one model of each made up for our inspection. Scheme No.1 is the easier to produce, and also there is no difficulty with scheme No.2 but it involves a shaped cutter which might be considered to have a short life. The latter scheme gives us a rod with the minimum amount of material in the stem. It will be understood that owing to our recent failures with oil pipes we are anxious to get these rods moving.
