Re Ventilators for Scuttle-Dash on L to E Cars. TBB1/L28912. Mr Spinney. Mr Royce is not satisfied with the design submitted (F2636) and wishes you to again go into the matter. The objections he mentioned were :- 1. The form of hinge adopted. The length of base is insufficient and he thinks the lugs attached to the door should be at the extreme end. A preferable type of hinge is of the form used on the doors of safes. 2. He is of the opinion that the mechanism used for operating door is unnecessarily cumbrous and complicated. Also, he does not think the slide would work as shown. 3. The door shown for the off side is very ineffective owing to the corner being cut off at the bottom. | ||
