To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to GJ. c. to Her. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL GOSHAWK - REAR SHOCK ABSORBER. +4329 Please receive N.sch. 1290 shewing a slight modification to the lie of the shock absorber lever and connecting rod, which Mr. Royce has asked for, in order to reduce still further the tendency to toggle, and also to equalise the swaying of the connecting rod on the ball joint. We should like you to investigate the clearance between the ball end of the spring etc. with a gaiter in place. If you find that it is insufficient with this proposal please leave the lever at 11" namely, it's existing length.
