X.2641 RE. PUSH BUTTON SWITCH.
Replying to your BY5/P15.4.20, the trouble is that the end nut on lever which secures carbon fouls case, also the screw head fouls centre boss of case, and it is only just clear when passed off by the Electrical Dept., after being used once or twice the wood in end of button gets just a little compressed or flattened, sufficient to allow these to foul case.
We agree that the case takes load but the spring load on lever is sufficient to compress the soft wood or the high places which held it off the case on its test.
We have had 6 of these shorting, which have been made O.K. The next case of this which we have we will bring to your attention.
